Three hour workshop in conjunction with
Association of Book Crafts NZ International Conference 2014
Monday 27th October 10a.m. - 1pm. Venue: Auckland University of Technology
Cost to be advised.
In this hands-on workshop, Marama will discuss ways to identify and develop themes for artists’ books and will provide examples and basic materials.
In the class, students will learn skills to develop text and images to integrate into their own artists’ books using practical exercises such as writing prompts and techniques with the non-dominant hand.  Marama will engage and encourage students to identify and develop themes using images through  mark making, creative word play, collage and stamping. Drawing on her extensive experience and knowledge of book structures, she will guide students to combine their text and images in an appropriate book structure  or to plan a rough design for future books using ideas formulated in the class.
